So is mine, all the time 50 to 55 and sometimes dips into the 40s. What is your concern

My doctor seems concerned it's too low. Also my diastolic is too low sometimes in the 40's mind you I am on 5 mg of Bisoporol twice a day and was on 2.5mg ramipril all lowers your blood pressure. They have just stopped my ramipril. Hopefully it's right to do as I had a heart attack 10 years ago and been on it since then.

Your doctor "seems" concerned or is concerned? Did you ask him if he's concerned and if so, why?

I'm not a medical professional (usual disclaimer by most of us) but what was your heart rate like (when not in AF) before the cardioversion? Mine is often in the 50's as well but it's been like that most, if not all, my adult life. So that's normal for me. What's normal for you - presumably you and your doctor know.

Diastolic BP sounds very low. Has it just changed or been like that for extended period? If it is regularly that low I'd expect your doctor would have discussed lowering or changing your relevant medication(s). I presume you're not symptomatic e.g. light-headedness, dizziness, fainting etc

What's does your doctor actually think about all of this (low HR and very low (diastolic) BP)? If you don't really know then you either need to ask him/her the questions you have or take someone in with you who will ask the relevant questions on your behalf.

I agree. Doctors just want you in and out so they can charge. I am not saying that all of them are like that. I had a same problem recently he didn't even want to examine me and after that he didn't say anything. I am very disappointed.

Bisoprolol at 2.5mg a day was responsible for bringing my HR down to 40’s - it’s normally mid 50’s and that is fine for me so we’re all different - Ramipril lowers your BP so understand the rationale there - I’d say it’s important to keep tabs on how removal of the Ramipril affects your BP over a period of time

10 mg of bisoprolol is high! Why are you on such a high dose would be my first question. This is a heart rate control drug.

Even when I had Atrial Flutter( a very fast arrhythmia) the maximum I could take was 5 mg a day,nit for long as it floored me.

10mg is a high dose. After my heart attack and subsequent arrhythmias they tried to get me onto 10mg. I only managed 7.5mg but have had to reduce it to 5mg daily. I’ve also been on ramipril 2.5 since the beginning. The cardiologist and EP are not worried about my heart rate being in the 50s in the day or that it drops down well into the 40s at night because I’m not symptomatic. My body has adapted. Ramipril is to help the heart muscle damage from my heart attack not to become stiff and hence work better. For that reason they’ve kept me on it and tweaked the bisoprolol.
