Hi 'Our Will'. I did reply but it's not showing - the internet drives you crazy at times. Just said to have a good one
Paul
It does. I tried to set up /register an account with Barclays today, got to the very last bit..' technical problem ' .
OK.
Advice ' go to your registered account for any queries'
Ho.hum! Lol! Keep the faith, best wishes for 2024 mate. Xxx😉
Press on. It's the best mobile app (on iPhone at least with face recognition), once you make it through the (very necessary) security hoops. Have you got one of the blue little gizmos that generate secure codes - a PIN Sentry device? You'll need one, I guess.
Happy New year!
Steve
Happy New Year to you Paul.. All the best. Debs
Happy New Year to all.
I had a pacemaker fitted in the 19th. All going well and wound site healing quickly. However. I still get a little flutter now and then which hopefully is going to be dealt with by meds. Hoping so!
On another matter, a dear friend of mine has constant AF which has not been helped by the fact she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a couple of years back. The Parkinsons seems not to be as controlled since taking AF meds. She is at a low point just now. Anyone else had this problem?
Hi Villador.
It's important for both you and your friend to consult with medic's for personalized advice.
Regarding your recent pacemaker implantation, it's not uncommon to experience occasional flutters after the procedure. However, your doctor will be the best person to assess your specific situation and determine if any adjustments or medications are needed.
As for your friend with Parkinson's and afib it's imporatant for her to communicate with her doc about this. It's not uncommon for medications for one condition to affect another, and managing multiple health issues can be complex. Adjustments to medications or other treatment approaches may be considered to find the best balance.

And a Happy New Year to you, too, Paul. All the best for 2024
Clever card Paul! Best wishes to you and all... calm or at least calmer hearts for us all!
Happy New Year to all.
Thank you for your good wishes, Paul. Happy and healthy 2024. I see a cardiologist in January or February, no set date yet. This will be first appointment since February 2020. I just want see how my heart is doing. Finally got a negative result on Boxing day after 15 days of covid. Just getting back to fitness. Managed 10k steps yesterday. A cough still lingers but not so irritating now. Had 2 episodes of afib last week which I put down to virus.
Gosh! 10,000 steps! Very impressive- according to some crazy book that was recommended by someone here some time ago, doing that every day was a cure for AF! As I have chronic fatigue added to by the Flecainide that keeps my heart in order I rarely get to manage even 2,000 steps in a day now!
I hope you can add a few extra each day. Sorry you have chronic fatigue. Is that caused by AF and flecainide?
No, it developed along with the paroxysmal AF after a bout of shingles when I got the pain before the rash and couldn’t get an appointment at my surgery for almost two weeks by which time the pain had gone but the rash had appeared! The doctor had to admit that it was shingles but I wasn’t offered an antiviral and after that the fatigue and the atrial fibrillation must have started but it took a while for them to appreciate I had the AF after a n emergency trip to A and E where the paramedics diagnosed me before we reached the hospital! The main doc still fails to accept I have the fatigue! Still alive and able to appreciate some of the things life has to offer and my lovely husband looks after me and I’ll be 80 towards the end of January! Flecainide does have a side effect of fatigue for some people which might be adding to mine but I haven’t had an episode for almost a year now so it works!
Hi Vonnegut.
It sounds like you've been through quite a challenging time, especially with the shingles and subsequent health issues. It's heartening to hear that you have a supportive husband and that the Flecainide has been effective in managing your afib episodes. Wishing you continued strength and good health as you approach your 80th birthday in January!
Paul
Sorry about that. The slowness to diagnose shingles is appalling but I suppose that happens fairly frequently. I thought I read the side effects thoroughly but I missed the one about tiredness from flecainide. I have it as a PIP for now but it may change when I see cardiologist, soon, fingers crossed. Keep well x
Great card! Thanks Paul and I hope you and all the others here have a happy and healthy 2024!! 🎉
