My Afib and Bisoprolol

My last post was 2 yrs ago when my AFib was ruining my quality of life.. Regular episodes and anxiety was the norm..

Fortunately by cardiac nurse seemed to read my mind during a catch up conversation and we decided the pill in the pocket 2.5 mg of bisoprolol taken when my heart misfired would be better used daily.

My last afib episode was 29.7.2022, my anxiety has vanished, my ectopics gone.. I only wish the 3 years of effing about with the pill in the pocket had never occured.

If you are experiencing the menace of nocturnal afib as I was and on the pill in the pocket solution speak to your cardiac team.

Things may change but thus far my afib is behaving.. Like Dexter had his dark passenger so do we.

Good post. As I have said here many times, as much as PIP is appealing to most who are wary of heart drugs, thankfully my cardiologist managed to get through to me saying that the heart responds better to regular medication. So I took Flecainide daily.

I have extrapolated this advice by changing my lifestyle to more consistency and moderation generally.

Feel sure this has helped keep me in NSR over 10 years.

I was put on Flecainide daily but couldn’t take it daily as it caused me other arrhythmias. My EP suggested PIP approach and it worked like a charm. My best friend although I had to be in AF to use it. Sometimes PIP is the only way to use these drugs due to tolerance but having said that had I been able to take it daily maybe I wouldn’t have had episodes every week. No Afib now since minimaze but it truly is a monster.

Interesting and thanks for sharing, I was on flecainide and bisoprolol daily until I figured out the flec was making it worse, now 1.25mg bisoprolol daily seems to be working well! Do you take 2x1.25mg or 2.5mg once a day excop999
