Yes. Not uncommon. I was prescribed a course of Colchicine, an anti-inflammatory. Also took it easy until things resolved.

Thank you. This is Day four and I am still in pretty severe pain. I am going to go in today and try to get Colchicine. The first doctor just shrugged it off and said I shouldn't have Pericarditis from just an EP study. The second doctor said it was pericarditis and to take Ibuprofen, but this is awful..... To top it off, the Metoprolol isn't really working that well so my SVT is going crazy that I tried to have fixed and couldnt.......ugh

Yes I got pericarditis and oesophagitis following my ablation. When I came round from the GA the pain was so severe that I had to be knocked out again with i/v fentanyl. Lots of morphine for a few days, plus Colchicine, ppis, pureed & cold diet.

Would anyone be willing to describe what the pain FELT like? I've had a full workup and have no emergent issues, but am really struggling with the pain and would really like to know what others experience was so I can have something solid to relate to.

I had some pain the day following the procedure. But it was the day after that where it got significantly worse. It felt like a combination of someone sitting on my chest along with sharp pain across a wide area. Ended up being admitted for 2 days but the colchicine and ibuprofen worked very well. But still had residual discomfort for about 3 weeks at night.
