I have recently changed medication from one tablet of 60mg per day of Edoxaban to two tablets of 5mg per day of Apixaban. It seems a vast difference in strength. Has anyone else had this change?

Hello, I can understand why you would be concerned but 60mg is the standard prescribed dose for Edoxaban. I’m in Portugal so the link will not work but if you Google NICE guidelines anticoagulants it will give the doses for all types of anticoagulants……

You cant compare apples to lemons. Each drug has a specific dose.
Hi Tibbie, I had the same medication change a few months back from low dose Edoxaban to Apixaban. I was told by the Arrhythmia team that my weight was just a few pounds below threshold for the higher dose of Edoxaban. The change to Apixaban meant they didnt have to worry about putting the dose of Edoxaban up and down with my age and weight.
