mild short headaches

hi since I’ve been prescribed Bisoprolol 1.25 and edoxaban 60 mg I’m getting short lasting headaches every now and then. I’ve never suffered these before so am putting it down to the meds. Does anyone else on these tablets get these? I also seem to be getting sensitive to bright lights, unless I’m totally losing the plot. Thanks

Yes, shortly after I was put on Bisoprolol I started getting short painful headaches, which I'd never had before. Also had a horrible ache low in my legs and I had to come off of them. This was a shame because they suited my heart and it behaved well.

I'm now on Metoprolol and they're not really keeping my heart free of AF.

I'd started wondering if I had a brain tumour, because I'd never had headaches. My lovely lady doctor even offered to send me for a head scan.

I didn’t get as far as the doctor but had the same thought. Stopped Candesartan and all ok ☺️

Yep pain in the head is a brain tumour and pain in heart area is a heart attack. We can't help but have that little 'what if' thought.

Glad you were sorted.

Hi, I’m not sure how long you’ve been taking your meds but I had head aches for the first month or two but they eventually stoped. So keep your fingers crossed once your body adapts, they’ll cease.

Sensitivity to light and migraine-like headaches are a side effect of some drugs. I would mention this to your GP. I know that there are beta receptors in many organs of the body, so bisoprolol's action can, in sensitive individuals, be wide ranging.

I am taking exactly the same medication as you are and did not have headaches when I started taking them - about a year ago - and dont get them now. I would certainly do what Steve suggests and mention this to your GP or whoever prescribed them - I think it has to be a consultant for the Edoxaban

it’s been six months since my pacemaker and AV node ablation, my blood pressure remains at 145/90 or thereabouts. I have tried Biso, then they said Diltiazam- which I’ve been on - horrible headache and dry mouth. But not the brain fog and pressure of Biso. However, today I’ve had the most severe headache I’ve ever had. I did have a brain scan yesterday, report came to me from what I read no abnormal masses. Pacemaker check came good, no atrial tachycardia,, pacemaker working good heart rate good I feel I don’t need rate control

I’ve been into ER, It’s been difficult to speak with cardiac nurses or Dr. They encourage me to keep taking the med, but I am so disappointed and disheartened, many tears.

I drink water, working on potassium and magnesium intake, a little overweight, but have lost some. I feel like I want to do a natural way to lower BP. See ads on beets, red Spanish, like to increase nitric oxide. Right now I am in such pain. So yes I get headaches
