Park...walk

Not sure if this is quite the right place, but for those AFers who want to do some regular exercise but don't want to go crazy here's parkwalk. This is a very social occasion as this link details. There are parkruns all over, you just turn up and walk (or run of course).blog.parkrun.com/uk/2023/10...

My second Parkrun, a mix of walking and jogging with the grandkids supporting! July2022 as part of stroke recovery. Parkwalk has been a brilliant introduction. Excellent signpost Omniscient.

Parkrun 2 with family support!

Nice one Chinkoflight . I think the point is you don't have to run, and everyone is supportive.

I’ll be doing my 250th on Saturday so I’m definitely a fan. Definitely don’t worry about walking. Every one I’ve been to has been an amazingly friendly and supportive environment.👍

Yes, those walks look wonderful. I can smell the foliage and the trees, and am somewhat envious of such participation with others and the environment.

But as the Omniscient One, do you have any exercise suggestions for those of us who cannot walk (never mind run) because of various medical conditions? 🤔

Tai Chi is one activity I can recommend, and has proven positive cardiovascular benefits.

Yes, I understand there is an assumption of some level of movement here. Apologies if that is inappropriate. I would like to try tai chi, I have heard many good things about it. Can you swim or swim-walk?
