I want to thank everyone who replied to my post. You all gave me many things to consider and inquire about. I appreciate each personal experience. I am still trying to find and oral surgeon who will remove the tooth. Things are so different in the U.S. than in the UK. The kindness you all showed means a lot. Thank you.

Very glad you found it useful. It does seem UK and US access to health is very different. My dentist practice offers 5 specialities - Hygienist, Dentist, Orthodontists, Periodontist as well as a visiting dental/maxillofacial surgeon.
