Hi Haverster. I am not a doctor, but I can provide you with some general information. Edoxaban is an anticoagulant medication used to prevent blood clots in people with afib. It's essential to understand that medications can affect individuals differently, and side effects can vary from person to person. Personally, anticoagulants haven't had this effect on me. I've always been fine with them and don't even know I'm taking them.

If you are experiencing breathlessness or chest pain after starting Edoxaban, it's important to seek medical advice. . Both symptoms can be serious and may indicate a potential issue with your heart or lungs. It's very possible that these symptoms could be unrelated to the medication, but it's important for a doc to assess your condition and determine the cause.

Never ignore symptoms like chest pain, especially if they occur during exercise, as they could be signs of a heart or lung problem that needs medical attention. Consult with your doctor if this continues.

Don't panic but get it checked out.

Hi Paul

Thanks for your reply, I have been to my doctor and as he has to he is looking into the worse case scenario and getting me tested for possible angina. What I have been experiencing is a possible side effect of Edoxaban, time will tell.

Could be heart related, but a lot of people complain about GERD/heartburn from some thinners, whose symptons often mimic angina.

So before they do anything invasive, your doctor therefore may want to put you on a trial of antacids and or PPIs either for differential diagnosis and/or treatment. Changing to a different thinner is also a reasonable option.

Thanks Jim, that sounds like a wise route to take.

I get that with all of them, no exercise needed.

I'm a cardiac rehab instructor. Any chest pain with exercise is a red flag. Check it out with your GP or EP first. Better safe than sorry xx
