I already posted a few weeks ago about our “unwelcome welcome” to England (husband getting Covid) But he did finally test negative. And though we had to make lots of travel changes, we were able to see most of the people we’d hoped to see and then continued on to Finland. Where I promptly got hit by a huge wooden door and have had quite a concussion. And that sent me into tachycardia for several hours after the “collision” with the door. We ended up staying in Finland for an extra week, until I was a little less wobbly. We’re now back at Heathrow, with a flight home tomorrow. Wheelchair was waiting for me when we got off the flight from Finland. Was grateful for that help and surprised at how easy it was to arrange. I’m never leaving home again! 😂

Crazy travel - covid, concussion, tachycardia.
Wow a trip of a lifetime for all the wrong reasons. Unforgetable for issues you could well have done without. Safe homeward journey, then a good rest to get over your holiday. Pleased you got to see everyone you wanted too while away. Best wishes.
Phew what an ordeal for you both. I agree that staying put seems the best option nowadays. Nothing quite like home. Good wishes for the flight home and recovering fully. 🤗
OH NO! What a tale of woe. Unforgettable for all of the wrong reasons! One day, not yet, you will laugh about it.
Hope you have an uneventful flight and good journey home. You’d better check in with us when you get home, you can’t leave us hanging!
You will be SO relieved to be home! I’m glad you got to see your friends despite all the set-backs. In the end it’s all our special connections with others that really matters most in life - in my experience. We’re currently staying with friends for a holiday and having a great time despite the grey clouds and downpours - rather less serious “weather” than you experienced yourselves! Relax, breathe, meditate, and have a safe journey home 🤗
Oh my goodness, you've certainly had a rough time this holiday. You'll both be fine next time, so don't put off coming here again.

Maybe next time wanderlust and nostalgia for mates hits, just pull up some episodes of Rick Steves and do FaceTime? Ha!
Noooo! Concussion and tachycardia as well??? So sorry about your trip 😕 You’re doing well to be able to laugh about it already, I don’t think I could!
Hope it doesn’t put you off a return journey one day - I reckon you’ve had all your travelling bad luck in one go, so you should be safe for decades now!
Safe travelling home for now, and good restorative time to recover Jx
Thanks. Hope tonight's flight goes smoothly. Thanks to dumb luck, our flight home is in first class! Had to rebook at the last minute and the airline miles I used for the original flight home translated into a bargain basement 1st class ticket! Wasn't going to turn it down! They'll know I'm an imposter by my ratty old nom-designer sneakers. 😄
Oh my goodness, what a trip you had! I hope the last leg of your journey is uneventful and you can finally get home to rest!
Thanks! Looking forward to getting home! Can’t imagine what a mess my garden is.
If the raccoons haven't eaten them! 😀
Lol, nooooooo 😂
My daughter just told us that her neighbours got home from holiday, and planned a harvest of all the lovely food the following day. A deer got in overnight and ate the lot!
What a saga! I feel your pain. I am expecting three family members from abroad tomorrow -- all of us have AF (my sister, in her 50s, had an ablation a year ago, shortly followed by Covid, from which she has not fully recovered after nine months. She is hoping she won't be in even worse shape after the long-haul flight than our 83-year-old mother, whose last trip abroad, a year before the pandemic, resulted in pneumonia and a hospital admission far from home). They have only just had their new boosters the day before travelling, too recently to be effective. I really really hope they don't catch Covid here, or any of us have a significant cardiac event during the visit. We do have a neighbour's empty house available for quarantine if necessary, but I am living in fear that one of us will have a medical emergency, with the NHS on its knees. My sister and I tried hard to dissuade our mother from this trip, but she was adamant that she wanted to visit me 'one more time'. Our compromise was that she not travel unaccompanied. Fingers crossed and safe trips for everybody!
