1 week post op and everyday I have had vision issues... blurriness, auras, tunnel vision. It happened while I was in the hospital still and they ruled out stroke, but the issue has persisted. Wondering if anyone else has experienced vision issues after an ablation and can provide some insight
Thanks!

You have obviouslsy not read our recovering from ablation fact sheet. This is common and results from the transeptal puncture during the procedure. It may take a couple of weeks to pass but nothing to worry about. Such a shame you were not told or shown our fact sheet, which I shall add below shortly..
Perfectly normal to have this aura. Mine hit me 3 days after my ablation and as I'd not been told anything at all in hospital, I did panic then remembered that I'd read about this in the ablation recovery info that BobD has put up. For me this lasted probably about a week.....weird side effect of the procedure I guess. I'm now 6 months post op and am doing ok. Still get those flutters and feel it's going to start but it doesn't, lie it's being stopped in it's tracks and that's fine by me. Long may it continue. I hope the aura goes away very soon for you!
I still have these visual problems following my surgical ablation & OHS 8 months sgo and have now been reffered to opthalmology at the hospital. If yours persist consult your GP or optican.
I had this too after my ablation last week. A proper little ‘kaleidoscope’ of lights and blind spots noticeable when reading, very strange sensation. After my first ablation I was very concerned because I hadn’t seen the fact sheet and no one had told me this could happen - very disappointing that almost no useful information was given at the hospital on discharge. Thank goodness for this amazing group and fantastic little factsheet for recovery, I wasn’t worried at all the second time !
Yes I had them after every one of mine. I hadn't been given the info sheet and after first ablation and having these auras was sent to a and e and had all the tests for stroke. Advice of 111.My EP said that was the right thing to do though as stroke risk is higher after ablation. He said if it happens again to do the same thing. It happened after ablation 2 and 3 and I confess I did not go to A and E as it was exactly the same as first time in terms of time frame following ablation, duration and severity. I would have got it checked out if I was worried. Went away after 3 or 4 days.
Yes I had those…maybe it is not too late for you to read the online leaflets? They are very informative. …well worth reading as they are very reassuring.
