Shifting to Sotolol

when shifting to sotolol, will I come off metoprolol or diltiazem or both?

My Consultant replaced both Bisoprolol and Flecanide with Sotalol, it relieved the side effects I had experienced with the former medications.

I did. I was taking Amiodarone and metoprolol and now that my heart is back in rhythm I just take sotalol. I,m hoping to get off that too when I see my EP next week.

I was taken off metropolol and put on sotolol it was just stop one and start the other . I also did it at home as I was never offered the transition in hosp . I have had no issues , never felt as tired on sotolol as I was on metropolol . I have had some insomnia with the sotolol but it has kept me in NSR and have not been in hosp with other issues since I switched over . And though I complain about the insomnia I get the feeling from the docs that is minor to side affects that I could get with the antiarrhythmics that some people get . As I understand it Sotalol affects both the heart rate like bisoprolol and rhythm like diltiazem so can replace both of these.

Taken off Metoprolol and Mutlaq when put on Sotalol. Sotalol not working well, still many AFib episodes. Want me to change to Amiodarone but the side effects scare me. Also dealing with Emphysema so the breathing meds fight with the heart meds, none of the meds work to their maximum. So breathing a big problem.
