Hi, I haven’t posted on here for literally years but am now seeking your help/advice again.
During covid I was taken off warfarin and put on edoxaban, now I am suffering nose bleeds, some so heavy I have been advised to attend A&E.(3 times in 13 days) Has anyone else had this reaction? Oh! I have had a bleed from the other as well.
I saw a GP today and she is going to change my meds but I would appreciate your stories/advice as we live with Afib.
Thanks.

Not sure if this will help but its a reflection of a long past experience of mine.
I was diagnosed with paroxysmal AF in Jan 2010. I was already on Simvastatin, Ramipril. Following AF diagnosis my Cardio Consultant put me on Warfarin and Bisoprolol. Initially, no sweat!
Then out of the blue I began to get nose bleeds .... totally random and full flow. I began to wonder whether I should front up to A & E - but didn't. The Cardio whizz (when he put me on it) instructed that the Bisoprolol be taken in the morning.
Eventually I went to my GP and explained. She looked up in her book of magic potions and brews .... she then said. Take Bisoprolol at night. I then took it at night and haven't had a nosebleed since. Ever! So, I am wondering two things ...1) are you on Bisoprolol ? and 2) what time of day are you taking your anticoagulant ? Edoxaban.
I might add that when my nose bleeds started I thought it was Warfarin which I was (and still am) taking at night. It definately was the time of day I was taking the Bisoprolol that was the problem.
Just sayin', hoping it helps.
Oh yeah, one other point, sorry if you've already done it BUT .... have you read the bit of paper in the packet, this will almost certainly explain common and not so common side effects of the drug.
Thanks for replying but I’m not on Bisoprolol as it didn’t help me but I’m on verapamil. Yes I read the paper work and it says if having nose bleeds regularly seek advice.
An older friend had these on warfarin and had a very quickly done cauterisation of a small artery in his nose and that was that. I took him along and was impressed with the NHS but that was pre-pandemic.
