Does anyone else suffer from stiff and painful legs when walking. This happens to me after about 5 minutes' walking and worse when uphill. Wondering if it could be some side effect of medication (bisoprolol/edoxaban)?

Painful legs
Maybe get you doctor to check the circulation in your legs. When my late Dad used to come walking he always had to stop after half a mile and have his legs massaged but could then do another three or four miles. Mind you he was late eighties by then.
Could be nothing more than typical muscle soreness, could even be your medications, or as Bob said, could be a circulation problem called PAD (peripheral artery disease).
Did your GP take your pedi pulses (at the ankle and feet)? That's a decent preliminary screening for PAD, but not conclusive. If that wasn't done, maybe a cardiologist would be better to look into things.

I have had this for many years.I am of slight weight etc. and pretty active at an advanced age. I was told it was venal insufficiency/linked to circulatory problems. Also linked to heart problems and cardio. said to keep active and keep the ankles area well hydrated with E45 cream or similar .I do this every day and it helps a lot to loosen the skin and stop it breaking and this re gime seems to enable me to walk better. My GP ignored it for years but a geriantologist picked up on it and gave me the info. I pass on to you here.
Lactic acid build up in the back of the legs can cause aching and stiffening of the muscles also. I sometimes get that but the more I walk the less painful it gets.
