Strange feeling : Hi everyone hope you... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Strange feeling
My guess is that the sinking feeling is your heart either skipping a beat or just going out of rhythm, I used to think the same when I first developed afib, couldn’t quite work out what was happening. Not easy I know but try to remain as calm and relaxed as you can, stress can exasperate afib. Just my guess of course.
Since I have been dealing with hydraulics for a long time, I can only try to explain it, without the intention to say that I am absolutely right.
When in AF working regime and when filling with the blood, the ventricles of the heart have to suck the blood in, because the atria are of no help at all. Even worse, the atria fibrillate and disturb the free flow of the blood.
This means that the ventricles have to generate the underpressure in themselves when filling with the blood, and it can be this strange feeling of emptiness you have. Normally, the whole blood circulation system is under positive pressure, so the phase with underpressure, even only in the ventricles, may really feel strange.
Hi thanks for that explains things and the feeling cheers
