Over the last few months I have become conscious of how hyper sensitive my system is to how hydrated I am - especially when I have been indulging in naughty things like sugar or starchy foods.
I often have weird pains and sensations and if I drink a glass or 3 of water I recover quickly.
I have been in persistent a-fib and on Rivaroxaban for the last 2 years, so nothing has changed medically recently.
Is this just an age thing (I am 49 and definitely going through a few physiological transitions) or is it somehow related to the a-fib.
The solution is remarkably simple and usually very cheap: drink more water, eat less sugary stuff.

Spot on, I think you are more sensitive when you have AF. I recently posted about AF and hydration and how dehydration and loss of electrolytes can have a devastating affect on your system.
So true Jonathon. I sleep better too when I don't eat rubbishy, sugar filled food. After a bad night, today I'm vowing never to buy biscuits again. I can hold off eating them, but once I have one I'm a fallen woman.
I agree with you re fluids and drink a glass of warm water when rising in the morning, then follow that with a small glass of orange juice. A little while after a healthy, muesli home made breakfast, I have a glass of coconut water. I then feel I've kick-started my day with plenty of fluid. For the rest of the day I have tea, water, 1 x decaf coffee and herbal teas.
I know I should improve on the type of fluids I have and that's my aim. Thank you for the reminder.
