Happy Friday forum folks. This is not a post related to afib - I just wanted to wish you all a great weekend. It's called FriSatSu (Friday/Saturday/Sunday).
Happy FriSatSu to you all. Enjoy and embrace the moment.
Paul.
PS - here's a nice remix song to listen to - let it kick start your weekend. Click the 'watch on YouTube' if it doesn't link'.
Happy weekend Paul. Re the music - No not for me. reminds me of that song, They're Coming to Take me Away Ha Ha. Listening to this I think they will take me away.
Thanks Paul. Have a good one! Afraid I'm with Jean on this remix although I love the original...
.Bit of a worrying weekend ahead for me although I'm trying to relax. I went into fast AF in the early hours of Thu and I'm trying to sit it out. It's calmed down to 130s ish. I really don't want another dccv having had my 23rd 6 months ago. I'm hoping to leave A&E out of the equation until Mon if I still haven't reverted to sinus as I have a certain amount of 'hospitality ' planned here 😬 It seemed a good idea at the time. I feel absolutely shattered.
Hi Jean....I had to go to A&E this morning ..8am..I felt so weak and still in AF. I was feeling probably the worst ever . I was seen within minutes , triaged at 150bpm and queried why I didn't come in sooner. Taken straight to resus Anyway decision was made at 10.45am to cardiovert at 12pm which was successful. Pretty good treatment from my local hospital as usual!
Thank goodness, my hospital have never offered an instant cardioversion, apart from once where they were going to do it without putting me out! I reverted almost immediately after they told me that!
So glad that you're ok now. My AF nurse chose to leave me in AF after I had two cardioversions in one year and then went back into AF very soon after the last one.
I was on the point of collapse and bisoprolol and Magnesium & potassium infusions did nothing. I found it very worrying as I had never been as badly affected with considerably higher rates.
have you tried "box breathing"? it works for a freind of mine, although I havent had any luck with it. breath in for the count of 4, hold for 4, out for 4 hold for 4. keep repeating. I always give it a try, I think it slows my rate down a bit if nothing else.
Hi Paul. Saturday morning here and I've been invited to a fishing trip today off the coast on a friends boat. Hopefully snapper for dinner tonight! Beaut day.Cheers Blake
Happy weekend to you too Paul. Afraid I’m with Jean there on the remix and will be bolting my doors. Nothing too much planned for me but will be off to our Country Market later this morning for my weekly treat of a bacon butty. I might even declare war on some weeds afterwards. I swear I can hear them laughing at me! x
We’re about to pack up caravan in south of France to head home to the alps, but we’re so soggy wet after a terrible storm!..typical weeks of solid sun and the day we pack everything away everything is soaking wet!!
i remember years ago packing up wet stuff. Not great. Where in the S of F are/were you? First went there around 70 years ago when it was very different. It has become more and more crowded over the years. I remember we could have terrible storms down there but the weather usually broke around 15.8 when the mistral hit. After a big storm the water became much colder for swimming. I remember the family all crowded round a window and watching a most amazing storm with thunder and lightening over the sea and rocks at night. The whole scene was lit time and time again by sheet lightening. Very dramatic. Hope you have a good drive back.
