Heart rate

Hi,Following pace and ablate I have been told I have anxiety although I have never been a worrier nor do I get stressed, anyhow today I thought I'd go for a brisk walk and keep myself busy doing some light non strenuous painting, to say I struggled is a understatement, thought I'd check my heart rate on my fit bit.

Any thoughts?

I call your doctor's office Monday to discuss.

Does a Fitbit work when you have a pacemaker? My understanding of ‘pace and ablate’ is that the pacemaker regulates your ventricular rate so that reading would be impossible unless the ‘ablate’ part didn’t work or the Fitbit is recording your atrial rate.

Anxiety is the post-Covid buzz word for “don’t know”! Or I can’t be bothered to investigate. These days you not only have to be your own health advocate but you also have to dx yourself and suggest your findings in hope a light bulb might go off in cardiologist’s heads. Track and record your symptoms and if a pattern emerges show it at next appointment. It’s 8 months since my ablation and despite sporting an ILR, my EP only looked at January graphs for my May follow up. I was lucky I had one episode of ectopics in January that matched my records so now I know what the hell that episode was! Otherwise I suspect he’d use the usual line: anxiety!!!

Hi Aussieheart, agree with your comments, I don't believe I suffer from anxiety anymore than anyone else and Iam 99% certain my ongoing symptoms aren't anxiety related. There is so many more investigations they could be doing other than telling me to get away on holiday and take things easy!A second opinion with a cardiologist is in the system but guessing it won't be anytime soon.
