pacemaker is over a week old

been over a week since pacemaker was fitted

First few days uncomfortable I didn’t take paracetamol as my logic was if it hurts I’ll be less inclined to lift my arm above my head

Day four pain eased off dramatically

Still struggled with sleep position and found myself in knowingly with my left arm above my head not stretched more relaxed and bent

Pacemaker is on but set at 40 bpm until ablation of node

Now and then I feel a pulse in my arm and sometimes my wrist

Mind I thinking has he put the wire down my arm by mistake

Has lead fell out

How easy does the lead pull out

I’m not back at work after just more than a week and likely won’t till after phase two

Laying about is a head doer

Lastest from sunny Durham

Had mine fitted in September last year and av node in November. Several adjustments later mine is set 50-120! It has certainly given me my life back!

Two weeks you are not allowed to raise arm above head. As I explained in my posts about my PM I tied my wrist to my waist at night for a fortnight. Apparently the first week or so the leads are unstable and easily pull out. You'll find out at six week check up. lol 😁

let’s hope it’s well screwed in

Might superglue my arm to my leg tonight

I just used a length of crepe bandage and some safety pins.

Bob - I couldn’t raise arms above head for 6 weeks but I think that was because it was LV attachment they were worried about - which didn’t attach - hence having to have the revision. They place the LV leaf in a completely different way so detaching is much more common with 3 lead & LV pacing.

They set mine to kick in at 60. They never did the node ablation. That was about 2 years ago. Ive been mostly ok but last pm check im told ive now gone persistant af. Excersising is not as good as i would like so the tech set it at a bit more rate responsive but that has increased random palps. Im yet to really try the new setting out. Heres hoping when it stops raining so much here.
