This may sound alot compared to other people's but not compared to mine ! I've been quoted 3k for European cruise for husband and self. I would recommend Saga insurance as you are able to speak to them in person which helps greatly to qualify answers to questions.

Have you tried Staysure?

We have worldwide annual insurance through our bank and paid an excess for me when I was diagnosed with AF. I have recently had cancer treatment and am not covered for that but as I don't expect to have a cancer-related emergency we travel without. I think other people have used Staysure, just make sure that you mention everything. Hopefully you will get more answers!

I don’t actually think that £700 is bad for the AF diagnosis and lung cancer. When my husband was alive, he passed five years ago, we were paying in excess of £3000 for insurance for a cruise in Europe.

My husband had cancer that had spread, but was well controlled and monitored. I had, and still have AF. I had also had renal and breast cancer.

We used All Clear for travel insurance. They were the only company at the time to cover cancer that had spread.

The main factor for our high premiums was the fact that my husbands cancer had spread.

£700 sounds about right to me. You don’t say if this is single trip or an annual policy. Also where you are travelling to.

Hi single trip to Turkey

Turkey isn’t one of the higher rated countries in Europe in terms of cost for travel insurance. My feeling is that £700 is about right. It is worth you getting a few quotes, but one thing that might give you a problem is if either of you are waiting for treatment. Most companies will not insure you if that is the case.

Good luck with it. Let us know how you get on.
