Do you miss out on yeast extract 'cos of high salt content?

I love yeast extract but only have it as a rare treat. Thanks to bbc yesterday I have discovered this. Dried flakes of yeast with 0.25gm salt per 100gm. Yeast extract is 10.8gm per 100gm.Average helping 5gm. I have no connection with the producer!!

I use this to make cheesy sauce because my grandson is allergic to dairy. I love the stuff.

Ooh must try that. We don't eat much meat so it oomphs the casseroles and bolognese. It does say nutrients lost if heated to over 100C so I maybe should add last minute before serving?

I add at the end then give it a good stir, till I see it has dissolved - it’s very quick. Don’t add too much at the start, check taste after it’s blended in, then can add more if you want to. I get mine from h & b when they have the penny sales on (if I remember 🤣). I even add a spoonful to smoothies sometimes. I would say Engevita is the best taste but h & b’s own is comparable - a couple of others I tried were disgusting 😱Enjoy x

Great I need B12 as in 2012 found to be deficient.

I take Solgar (gold top) 2 days of 1 nugget under tongue. But in NZ because of

Covid I will run out. I was against having a B12 injection.
