Holter Monitor Results

I don't think the results told me anything I didn't know, but it's now official - persistent AF with no other significant arrhythmia seen. I didn't get much exercise the week I had the monitor so not surprisingly max hr was 133, min hr 51. But it did surprise me that ectopics were "rare" (1% burden) as my wonky heart wakes me up at night and often feels like missed beats!

Hi Redfern, so I guess you feel a bit deflated right now - was there any decision on next steps for you following on from this news? Maybe this weekend do something nice that will completely or almost take your mind off it even for just and hour or two. Maybe see if there’s a glass blowing site you could go and watch - I took my friend to one the other day, it had all the history of how & where glass actually started, small museum showing pieces from many centuries ago and which country had made the type of thing they did - quite fascinating the we watched a guy make a few beautiful items from little swans to coloured jugs & vases and not one breakage. Just a thought if there’s one near you. Or maybe just a cup of tea and scone at a local tea shop, garden centre or National Trust . Big hug 🤗

Thank you Flipper that's a lovely kind thought. Your account of the glass blower sounds wonderful. We have House of Marbles which I think is a bit more commercial but still interesting, and Devon Guild of Crafts in same town - you've inspired me to organise a trip! Thank you! 😀I have 3 cardio appointments coming up! The first is private with an NHS EP I saw give a talk back in February and booked before the other appts came up! The second two are both NHS in April - one for another echocardiogram and the second a cardiologist but I couldn't find out who, or if they're an EP. So that does make me feel a bit happy and cared for. I hope you're OK and continue to make a good recovery. Great you're out and about!

Good morning Rainfern, Devon what a lovely part of the world to be in. I do recall you mentioned a while back about going private - don’t know if I mentioned even if you’re not going private you can still look up local EPs in your area on the private lists eg BUPA then you can read their resume on that site and possibly find where their local NHS clinics are are held (which NHS hospital they work out of usually gives their Secretaries numbers) - then ask your GP if they’ll refer you there to that team. I’ve had a little set back which may be allergy related - heart threw a couple of short tachy’ stunts that ECG said inconclusive and I could feel the bumps in my ches for a short while which haven’t felt in ages. The lungs acting up just (GP described them as ‘creaky’ which fits with the rest of me 😂) At the same time as lower legs began swelling & some heat/pain ?early cellulitis - so another antibiotic, some lovely compression socks again. Good news is still NSR despite a few hiccups and inability to walk any distance at all without being out of breath but doesn’t feel lung related but GP cutting bisoprolol dose as feel it may now be over zealous now NSR with lower HR as I feel my energy has been vacuumed out (seeing EP next week for check). Hope you have a lovely weekend x
