I have just returned from my holiday since my return I have become more breathless the walking into the airport terminal and on the return home from the terminal during the flight my heart rate varied from 52 to 112 and at times my chest felt uncomfortable I have a diagnosis of a fib should I be concerned?

Probably the stress of flying along with some dehydration. Drink lots of water and relax. If you have any chest pain or feel dizzy contact emergency.

Heart rate and some breathlessness moving around an airport sounds normal or it could be some sort of arrhythmia like afib. Personally, I would get a Kardia 6L to take the guesswork out of it. As to your chest feeling uncomfortable, do mention to your doctor. If it's chest pain then seek immediate medical attention.

Thanks Jim I do suffer from a fib and on medication beta blocker and blood thinners I have felt breathless for some time now and it’s getting worse. Fortunately I have an appointment with the cardiologist tomorrow so I will explain my problem and take his advice , thanks again

Evidently some who have had the Covid vaccine have developed problems in the lungs, might be worth mentioning to your cardiologist/other medic.

I am glad you were seeing your cardiologist. If it was just breathlessness through the airport, that would be one thing but if you have noticed it previously and it’s getting worse, you definitely need to be checked. It could be just a matter of working with your meds.

How active are you normally? I ask because if you don’t walk like that, normally your heart rate will do that. Right now I have a new pacemaker as of three weeks ago. I am set at 80 for a heart rate and was scared to death when I took it one day and it was 105. My pacemaker is made to anticipate what it should be if I am active just like normal people lol, when I took it again after sitting down, it went back to 80. Because I have not been able to walk for a year now obviously anything I do is exerting me. Eventually, my stamina will increase but it could be up to six months. I still get a little breathless, not much, and today I was up to 92 at one point for a heart rate , although I’m told I am not supposed to be taking my rate lol if I feel it is fast sometimes I do it.
