Hi Ruskin.
I think the most important thing is to see a doctor if they are accompanied by other symptoms such as chest pain or shortness of breath.
We all have ectopic's - I do and I suspect most (if not all forum members) do. They can be a common and often benign occurrence. It's understandable that you're worried about them and have been trying to make changes, like eating smaller meals in the evening, in order to reduce their frequency. It's not uncommon to have the thought that the ectopic heartbeats could lead to afib which can be concerning. However, it's good to know that ectopic heartbeats are usually not a sign of afib, but it's best to talk with your medic to be sure.

As Paulbounce says ectopics appear to be common. I have usually one/two each day sometimes none if I have had an unusually busy day. My cardiologist pretty much dismisses them.
However, your experience suggests to me that you need to do more homework...maybe start with different evening meals & drinks and eat slower and earlier (5pm?). Other lifestyle trial changes to follow.
I found if I had cold drinks during dinner I’d get indigestion or belch all the time and then the odd ectopic. I now drink room temp drinks and outcome better. As others have said don’t get up straight away after dinner sit for 20-30 mins. Tomorrow I’ll try no drinking during dinner and see what happens… hopefully nothing!
I am just becoming aware of the possibility of a hiatal hernia. Bending over can sometimes be a problem and recently I took a panadol in the night and it must have lodged in oesophagus and irritated the atrium. it is a known cause of a fib.
