I have a little, frequent cough since my ablation 3 weeks ago. Is this normal?

Thanks BobD. This information sheet is great. The hospital should give it out upon discharge.

If you had either a GA or a TOE it would be quite common to have a dry cough for some time.

Thanks CDreamer. I had GA.

Yes, it's common. I had mine for a week after my 1st ablation, which was sedation only. It's a disturbance of the oesophagal region I think so it triggers a little cough.

Thanks Singwell. It has been almost 4 weeks for me. Look forward to it going away.

It could possibly be from the tube down your esophagus during the procedure. I had mine on Monday and my throat's still a little raspy -- I wouldn't be surprised if I develop a cough from it too.

Now that you mentioned it, my voice sometimes cuts out and sounds strained. Hope you feel 100 percent soon.
