Glad that’s over it seemed to go ok until I was coming round I don’t think GA agrees with me as started to feel Unwell so was put on a drip then they weren’t sure if I had a bleed so wouldn’t give me any fluid until the doctor had seen my echocardiogram but was told it was fine was eventually took to my room but was having to be monitored every half an hour as my pulse rate shot up to 142 so was given meds to get it down. I don’t want to have to go through that again so I hope it works so now I am home to get plenty of rest.
Ablation done: Glad that’s over it... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Ablation done
Wishing you a good recovery and take things easy. X
Take it easy, lots of rest and do very little as your body will misbehave if you rush your recovery. I'm 7 weeks post Ablation and still have to pace myself. All the best to you with your recovery.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and that all goes well in your convalescent period.
Rest and recovery now.
Kia ora from New Zealand I had my first ablation 9 weeks ago.
Take it easy, don't try to do too much, put your feet up.
All the best
Blake
Hi Bell, just want to wish you a speedy recovery. Take it easy now for a week or two. Look forward to getting an update on how you are feeling.Jean
hi
What do you mean by"I don't think GP agrees with me?".
Sounds like a dramatic time and I hope you are feeling better from it all.
Ablation to me makes me visualise part of your heart being put to death!
Just as well I cant have one.
cheers JOY. 73. (NZ)
Were you dehydrated?
Bell said she didn’t think the GA (general anaesthetic) not her GP didn’t agree with her.
Hi
Who ever.
But why didn't her GA agree with her?
cheers JOY
Glad it over for you Bell and wishing you a speedy recovery. Please now rest, rest, rest and then some. x
Hello Bell are you therapy that had her ablasion done in Nottingham? If so vould you please tell me how it was as I am due to go for my second one there x
Wishing you a calm and speedy recovery!Take care
Best wishes and good luck.
You will be fine. Those anaesthetics are powerful drugs and can cause a lot of disturbance. You will look back on this time more warmly in maybe six months to a year's time when you'll find yourself feeling altogether better.
Steve
time to try and rest and distract yourself from the experience, I am 2.5 weeks post Ablation.. doing well .. I was a bit funny after mine but all was well just my body being mischievous…everything is going well for me .. I just get little bouts of tiredness now and again xxx
dolly did you have any more Afib episodes after yours ? I had a bad one in the night on Saturday after the ablation and have woke up this morning and am back in Afib again so not holding out much hope of it working I know it’s early days and it can happen. How are you doing now ?
I also went back into AFib right after my ablation. I had a cardio version two weeks later and now, two weeks on, I’m still in SNR. Don’t be discouraged, it will be fine I’m sure. My EP told me, “your heart is p****d off right now, give it time to heal”. Wishing you well.
hi I had an svt so slightly different animal … I am in sinus all of the time, my HR high when I walk … but it’s getting better every day. I didn’t know I had SVT for defo until the day of ablation. Thankfully it was a double entry Avnrt … all solved. Hopefully you will feel better soon and things will improve xx
fingers crossed for a successful ablation
wishing you a successful outcome, rest up well x
Wishing you well. Get better soon x
Your heart has had a bit if an invasion and you're bound to feel wobbly. Plus the GA - which can affect you up to a week or 10 days after. So do take it easy as others have said. 3 weeks or so in my experience before you feel more like yourself and no heavy lifting, pushing yourself exercise wise etc for the 12 weeks. Try to avoid bending down or forward for the first week.
Best wishes for a successful outcome 🤞
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Pace yourself is my only suggestion, build up slowly to your normal
I’m 6 1/2 weeks post mine. Working reduced hours and just patiently waiting and resting til returning to exercise etc.
Anaesthetic always makes me a little low so I totally empathise.
I had sedation rather than a GA ,recovery is so much quicker . Even though the procedure took over 3 hours it seemed to fly by. I was fully awake & having tea & a sandwich within minutes of being on recovery ward & off home a few hours later. No more svt that was over 3 years ago bit do get ectopic beats now for some reason. Best wishes on your journey to good health.
I knew from way back that GA doesn't agree with me and makes me quite ill sometimes. so now I always opt for sedation and local anaesthetic if and when suitable. Had a hip replacement and total knee replacement with this method sedation and epidural and can honestly say can't remember a thing about either of them.
Hope you don't need another ablation but if you should then I am confident it will be OK.
Take care of yourself and let everyone wait on you and spoil you for the next couple of weeks. Then slowly get back into a more normal routine over the next few months. Don't go back to work until you are sure you can cope. When you do go back to work it may be advisable to try a few weeks of shorter hours before trying full time. Listen to your body and when you feel fatigued take time out to rest.
All the best.
Thankyou just sitting on the sofa resting but back in Afib so a bit down at the moment this is twice since Saturday but I was told this could happen as I don’t think I could do it again
Do feel your concernsand esp being down. So many on here telling us in similar situation to be patient (I liked someone’s comment above about your heart being p@@@ed off after an ablation”)!! If you can control fear & despondency it does help. Trust me. You’re def not alone - I heard these words “as long as you are breathing there is more right than wrong with you whatever you’re facing right now” kinda helps put it in perspective hopefully. Fingers crossed it sorts out 🤞🏻 X
Hi Belle
Are you still taking any medication?
It is very early days yet and your heart has taken a bit of a hammering. You need to wait at least 3 to 4 months before the heart heals and you feel the benefits. Some people have good results almost immediately and some need a " touch up" ablation. No two experiences are the same but the recovery advice given on this site applies to all of us who have had an ablation. 🙂
My road was very rocky after my ablation but 4 months on things have settled down and I am very hopeful.
Take care.
Take good care of yourself Bell50 ❤️
Hi Bell Best of luck with your ablation - people seem to have mixed results. Hope your A Fib settles down soon and you start to feel the benefit of the ablation. x
Yes, go slow. I haven’t at all as started an 8-week cardiac rehab program exercising for one hour twice a week in a hydrotherapy pool only 10 days post-ablation. It is now 6 weeks since my procedure and like you reckon I had a reaction to the anaesthetic but my BP bottomed to 60/45 so they had to put me on a noradrenaline drip. I’ve had plenty of ups and downs as still on same dose of meds as was on pre-ablation and my very very low BP /HR continues. I’m around 42bpm at rest but if I get on the treadmill for 10mins it swings quickly to 160bpm! I’m dizzy, nauseous and have sore joints, sore back if stand too long but that’s slowly improving. I’ve probably wasted the ablation by just carrying on as normal so heed everyone’s advice here and put your feet up for a few weeks at least. I asked my EP was resting necessary and he just said do as little or as much as you feel you can! So I did too much as that’s me OR the Flecainide as I could do little before being put on that beta blocker. Wishing you success in eradicating this horrible condition
