Need your help to understand this pleaseI have had abdominal pain and digestive issues for the past few weeks, during this time had many more Afib episodes than usual, so have come to the conclusion I have Vagal Afib.
But most people on this forum say their episodes are triggered by different foods, does this point to the majority of sufferers have this type of Afib? and does it make any difference to treatment or anything anyway?
Thanks for your comments

Many specialists deny the existance of vagal AF. You have AF you will get AF.
What has been agreed is that when the vagal tone is low, AF events are more likely. Thus after a large meal or at night when sleeping an AF event that starts may be said to be vagally medicated.
It follows that slowing the heart for those individuals may not be a good idea and make events more likely. Beta blockers could therefore exacerbate the problem rather than reduce it.
Whatevr your view, diet has been shownw to be a major consideration with anybody who has AF. Large or overly spicy meals late at night, processed foods, too much meat , alcohol etc have all been shown to add to AF burden and reducing these along with a good BMI in most cases imprves QOL.
