Profuse sweating

Hi I'm mew on hear but have been reading all the really helpful posts.

I have recently been diagnosed with PVCs 1 8percent extra plus moderate leaky mitral valve. I am taking 3.75 mg Bisatrapol ( hate them and struggled to get to this dosage due to side effects of breathlessness insomnia and weakness. My calcium score was 5 % which consultant a saw through Bupa said was good. My sweating is getting worse. Only have to walk 5 or 10 minutes and my face andclothes are drenched. It's really affecting my day to day life and as I still work am having to bring a change of tops with me. I don'tget pain or particular breathlessness or dizziness when sweating. Any help would be greatly appreciated and does anyone else get this?

thanks

I feel sure you are not taking 37.5mg of Bisoprolol daily. If you want to edit your post click on More below it and then scroll to Edit.

Welcome and glad you are finding it helpful. Although I occasionally have excessive sweating I found it had nothing to do with my heart but was linked to autoimmune and autonomic nervous system. I guess there are other cause but this link may help

Thank you. The link is very interesting. I assumed it was to do with my heart but since being diagnosed I'm tending to put every ache and pain down to it. Will try and get strong face and neck anti perporants and see if they help.

Sweating in my case was stress, which of course is increased with health issues. The trouble with stress is it can often be difficult to identify and is therefore discounted; in the earlier days I would have sworn I was not stressed.

In my case I owe AF another thank you as since having to destress considerably because of AF my sweating has 90% gone.

Interesting - it can be autonomic response so that would make sense.

I think people vary a great deal with sweating. My friend was diabetic and he only had to drink a pint of beer and it seemed to leak out of him. If I do any work, I perspire much more these days and do think it is somehow heart related. I would mention it to your GP.

I suggest getting some up to date blood tests from your GP just to check everything else is OK, thyroid, blood glucose etc. It might be worth asking to have your hormone levels checked just to make sure everything is all within normal range for your age/life stage. I know it’s unlikely to be menopause related, but some women can have hot flushes and night sweats well into the post menopause phase.

I sweat as well, on the slightest exercise, even hoovering or dusting the TV, or walking the dog

It has got much worse lately and comes in waves when in AF

The consultant said it was not cardio related but I am still not so sure, but could be as CDreamer says

Hi'

I was sweating profusely on Metroprool,186 avg H/R day, changed to Bisoprolol 156 Avge H/R Day

It was because of uncontrolled H/R.

Put on CCB Calcium Channel Blocker Diltiazem down to 120mg am and Bisoprolol 2.5 at night finally CONTROLLED.

No more profusely sweating.

hI...likewise, I have a high ectopic burden, on 2.5mg biso and as well, after 3000 steps, man I am drenched and dripping, and I take a microfiber cloth to mop the brow. Never used to suffer from anything like it but it ties in with the arrival of my increased ectopic burden and since prescribi g of bisoprolol... don't necessarily get breathless although I do find my energy levels are lower. No straight answer yet from doctors.

Hi Talipia . I have just walked ten minutes and face and neck soaked. I used to play badminton for an hour last year and never like this. Luckily don't get any pain or bad breathlessness but still not nice. I'mgoing to try and spray top half of body with strong anti perporants and see if that helps. Have a good evening.

hI again, coincidentally I just had a rare f2f with my gp for another unrelated issue..so I asked about the sweats, and he said most likely an autonomic reaction linked with my diabetes2. Must be just a coincidence that he has appeared at the same time as the renewed ectopic rush. Who knows but chat with your gp if you can. Best wishes and don't let the ghouls bug you tonight.👍
