Been there done it all. Mine was up around 35+ by the time they finally found the cancer in 2010. All men die with it, the secret is not to die from it which is why regular testing is so important.

I know , the old man left it too late keeping symptoms to himself, got into his bones and knocked him off his perch old school I guess.

Brother diagnosed at 59 with early stage, made full recovery he's 70 now.

PSA results are indication only best to get checked out, no obvious symptoms so if it is cancer nip the b**tard in the bud.

PSA picked up on annual blood tests.

I had four lots of biopsies before they found mine as it was round the front. Four hour operation, three years of hormones and 33 lots of radio but clear ever since. Next 1/4 blood test next week.

My PSA (not an infallible test but the only one at present readily available) peaked at 4.6 in March 2019, then 3.4 in Sept 2019 & 3.1 in Oct 2021. Urologist agreed next test in Nov 2023. Lamberts Prostex (nb I have no commercial interest) seems to have improved the flow. If needed in the future, I am 20 mins from world class new urology centre in Guildford, Surrey. Hope all goes well for you.

HI

colonoscopy fine. Don't eat too much leading up to it and LOW FAT.

I couldn't eat melted cheese which a friend had made me lasagna.

Nice thought. No avocado for a while or chicken skin.

You will be good and results forthcoming.

Me too. Had my annual Apixaban liver function blood test. I persuaded, it took some persuasion to the nurse to add a PSA test. Went away for a weeks holiday on my return brief letter from Dr requesting face to face meeting. PSA of 7.8- gulp. Had the usual in surgery examination all seemed smooth if a little enlarged. Now referred to Urology. Seems I'm working my way through the alphabet of issues. Is there a Health Unlocked site for Prostate issues?

As my dear late Mum said, its no fun getting old.

Best wishes.

It does. So many things start to go haywire. You have my sympathies.

I had elevated PSA (4.2) due to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) confirmed after biopsy.

Was put on Proscar (Finasteride) which has been great, reduces PSA, improves flow, frequency, etc.

pd63 Ask your doctor about Proscar.

Been referred to Bolton Royal urology, family history would suggest could be cancer, best to get checked, no symptoms and DRE normal.

Done appt, repeat PSA in 6 weeks, results will indicate if MRI and possible transpireneal biopsy is required.

Told me to refrain from sex for 2 days before the test as this can give false high results, I wish LOL
