Hi there,Ive been on the beta for 2 months and recently had my statin dose doubled following a CT scan. For a month I cant help noticing that even allowing for "climate change", I sweat much more from the head and neck. Having read the drug info neither list this as a side effect. No other symptoms apart from very irregular heart rhythms which has triggered this phase of consultations.

I think that ‘s the heart rhythm (or rather lack of) causing the sweating. I often break out in sweat on my face and chest quite randomly. My medication (diltiazem) does cause ‘flushing’, however I still think the AF has something to do with it too.

I have excessive head and face sweats when the weather is warmer or when out walking. I think it's another symptom of AF but not experienced by everyone. I also need to pee a lot when an episode starts. I once counted 13 visits to the loo in the first hour. Again, not everyone suffers from that symptom .

I get lots of ectopic beats and have had the same sweaty experience during the last few months whenever I do anything like hard work (decorating comes to mind), but I only take bisoprolol irregularly. I have put it down to age (69) and the hot weather spell!

Increasingly rocky and leaky, too, in my case! 😉

I would suggest you might get your vitamin D level checked out if this has only happened since your statin was doubled.Excessive head sweating can be a symptom of vitD deficiency. Our bodies make vit D from cholesterol and taking a statin can cause a drop in production even if you are getting sufficient sunshine due to the reducec cholesterol.

wow thank you for that, very interesting. I was going to request an electoyte bloods check, your response has added fuel to my plan. Cheers!
