4 Years Post Cryo Ablation

Hi Folks, 4 years ago today I was sat in a waiting room at Liverpool Heart & Chest hospital waiting for my first (and last hopefully) cryo ablation. After about 6 months my irregular heart rhythm episodes reduced gradually to what they are today. I get about 10 single palpitation's a day (unless I have covid which made my heart do a merry dance for 3 days)

The cryo has made a vast improvement in my quality of life, I still live a strict regime of everything in moderation apart from alcohol which I don't touch at all sadly. I just want to post this to let you all know I am still lurking about in the background and also if anyone is considering ablation I can honestly say it was the scariest but the best days work I ever did.

Take care all and catch up with you soon.... Dave.

Dave - "I can honestly say it was the scariest but the best days work I ever did". Blimey, didn't know d-i-y was an option! 😂 Keep well.

ha ha..... It was quite the experience, they rang me the night before to say would I be ok with local anesthetic not general as the anesthetic guy was moved to another patient 😂 not the most pleasant experience but we got there 👍

Dave, I had mine 3 years ago for SVT, returned my life to some normality but palpitations are still with me too. COVID did the same to me for 5 days a few weeks ago, heart was all over the place so comforting to hear I wasn't the only one and it was COVID not the return of the dreaded issue.

Hi, that's great news and pleased to hear it. Like yourself I also chose Cryo Ablation at Liverpool Heart and Chest 18 months ago.

I'm pleased to say that other than the occasional ectopic / flutter I'm back to normality with no restrictions and that includes alcohol, I've been taken off Bisoprolol which is good but maintain my 2 a day Abixaban. I obviously would recommend Ablation to those who are eligible as without it I could'nt have had my recent holiday to Australia to visit family.

Thanks again to those who gave me support during my AF journey and best wishes to all.

Dave, so glad you are doing well. We had our ablations around the same time. I had two more after my first one, but now all is well! We did it. Stay well!!!

Congratulations - great news! Like you, I also had a PVI Cryo Ablation a little over 4 years ago (in Canada), and from the moment the ablation occurred I've been in 100% normal sinus rhythm ever since. May blissful NSR continue on for us for years to come. 😀

Best wishes,

Richard

That's good to hear! It's always nice to hear from those with good experiences, at the least to give courage to those contemplating ablation.
