North Shropshire EP?

Hi all, hope everyone is well at the moment.

I would be grateful for some advice, please. I will probably have to change my EP as we have moved to Shropshire, and I am still with Wythenshaw Hospital (Manchester). They did a grand job with my first ablation, but unfortunately I am still having some AF a year later.

Can anyone recommend a good EP in the North Shrops/ Staffs area?

Keep keeping on :)

Apart from the issue of having to travel, if you are happy with your current EP can you not stay with them. I travel to London from up north to be with my EP of choice. Worth a thought if you are happy to travel.

Thanks - I might stay with my old EP.

I had my ablation at Wythenshawe by Chris Skene and his team. Top man. I’m 15 miles away. Hopefully you don’t travel that often so I’d definitely choose to travel even it was up to 50 miles each way.

I would recommend that you stay with the EP you are happy with and travel. I live in South Shropshire and was very dissatisfied with my EP in Birmingham and found an exceptional guy in Plymouth. Luckily my sister lives in Totnes so when I had my pace and ablate procedures I could stay with her to recover. Now I have found him I am sticking with him!!

An EP is an electrophysiologist, a specialist cardiologist in electrical problems and arrythmia.

I think you can still request to be under your original EPs care if you wish. NHS England allows for this.

Thanks, I haven't heard my EP yet so will decide whether to move when I have.
