Heat and medication

Hi,

Wife has PAF and is on Bisoprolol, Rivaroxaban, Omeprazole and Lozartin. Her right knee joint has suddenly started seizing up , difficult to bend , and put weight on. A cold ice pack makes a real difference so suspect its muscular. We cant guess why the knee has started playing up. Can this extreme heat combine with the meds to cause such side effects. She has been experiencing increased occurances of muscular cramps for a few weeks now so something has/is changing .

thanks.

I'm not sure about interactions with medications. All I can suggest for cramps, having suffered with them growing up, is drink more. And when you think you've drunk enough, drink another glass to be sure. From a joint point of view, frozen peas/ice for 20 minutes in every hour and a gentle range of movement will work wonders. Try not to keep it in the same position too long.

Drinking water especially in this weather will help tremendously. I suffer with cramps because of the amount of diuretics I take so have to make sure I stay hydrated.

Look up side effects with Rivoxaban. Need to make sure good hydration, can cause aches. I have been suffering severe shoulder, neck and head pain for about 4 months, I’m trying to find the cause. I’ve a partial knee replacement and can be a bit tender.
