heat and AF
I’ve had AF for a lot of years and one of the worst times for me is when I get too hot ,,,, I try keep cool and even have cool showers when needed ,that helps keep my AF at bay ,
Yes, three times so far 🙁
I did a post on keeping cool in the last heatwave. Might be worth a read? Lots of good advice there. Alas it's quite common for our AF to notice the heat too.
Not AF but a big increase in palpitations. I hate the heat, to be honest (or it hates me!).

Hi, I had horrible palpitations last weekend, never had them that bad and loud. I could feel them everywhere. Saw my doctor on Monday he was a bit off with me and said you will get these, with AF I said can you have them for a few hours and he replied yes. I said I’m sorry to have bothered you. Short and sweet. We learn something new every day.
I have an excellent doctor and he is similar to yours. I sent him a Kardia trace of them at their worst and be said it’s common with the wide QRS I have, too.
Life eh?

Maybe a GP with AF would have more empathy ! My GP seems to know nothing about AF, As it is common they seem to disregard the horrible symptoms,
Wife suffers from PAF. No new episodes in this heat but she is experiencing more extra heartbeats than normal.
No, absolutely not. Thank goodness.
I had a couple of 24 hour episodes a month or so back that made me worry that things were coming back. I’ve not had any blips in the recent and current heat. I work outside climbing telegraph poles, relatively physical work.
Just recently returned from 2 weeks in Turkey. 33C heat every day. No issues.
I do try and ensure I’m well hydrated and take an electrolyte drink on these very hot days
Yes. Twice in three days I'm sorry to say. Last Friday and Sunday.
There's lots of suggestions on electrolyte drinks etc on another post today. You have probably spotted it by now.☺️
I posted during last month's extreme temperatures, one of the days clashed with a 12 hour shift at work. I came through it OK, drank up to 4 litres a day and followed advice at home of curtains shut facing the sun, open all the windows we can at night, frozen water in front of fans, don't go out in the peak of the temps.
I was/am still concerned about extreme temperatures though, particularly as my antidepressants make me sweat more.
