Yes. Definitely. I have been getting short bursts of palpitations with exercise out in the heat. It's not like my afib. These are very even beats. Just higher, all of a sudden. More annoying than scary. My heart rate doesn't go up too high and they don't last for more than a few minutes, at most. My cardiologist basically said "get used to it."

Yes anything that makes your heart work harder (i e heat) will make you feel any slight blips it may have. The problem is we AFers feel every little thing that normal people would right off and not notice. Most important thing it to stay well hydrated. Drink at least two litres of WATER a day in these conditions not including any tea or other beverages.

Yes, definately- especially when the humidity is high which has been today after the rain we had. From being an outdoor person loving the sun I am indoors with windows open to catch any breeze and fans on! Ice cream - ice cream - 🍦- to keep cool obviously 🙄

How wonderful it must have been to have rain.

Always something to appreciate.

We had several hours of steady rain last week and a few showers 2-3 days ago. My son lives under Winter Hill and their village is affected as they have diverted some of the water mains to help fight the fire leaving some houses in the village with very low or no pressure. Evidently they can smell the smoke on the coast in Southport. I was willing the rain up for them, sadly it didn’t happen. Hope it settles soon but no hint of weather changing is there?

Yes, it was great for the garden but it has made the air very muggy - we live by the river mouth and are getting mists drifting up in late evening.

Heaviness in chest & lots of runs of AF. Different from the usual - not as 'violent' nor as fast. Still not at all pleasant. Very breathless and 'out of sorts'. I'm a sunworshiper so can't believe it. Two PIPs yesterday as felt AF was REALLY going to kick off but didn't help at all. Drinking litres of water. On waiting list for ablation, possibly Novemberish.

Same here!

Regarding the ablation - no need to be petrified. It's not much fun but there are worse things. Some people have willingly had 3 or more!

Thank you. I've read so many negative posts & 'bad' experiences that it's great to have a positive response

Yes I'm really struggling. I've had problems with the heat for the whole of my life but it has magnified fivefold since I was diagnosed with AF. Thought I was going to pass out in the supermarket earlier, one minute my heart rate was through the floor the next it was through the roof and I had sweat pouring down my face despite being in the freezer section. It was horrible! It isn't helping that it is virtually impossible to sleep at night because it is so hot and muggy.

They aren't giving it out to cool down any time soon looking at the ten day forecast

I have invested in a mobile aircon unit, and only go out in the evening but even at 23.30 last night at ASDA I was suffering.

Never been a lover of hot weather any way, nothing worse than sweaty sticky body and that heavy drained feeling.

Not sure if it’s medication but since AF diagnosed as soon as the sun hits my skin I feel like I’m on fire, really weird feeling.

You are not alone. The heat definately makes it worse. I used to use sunbeds years ago and has to stop as I would get horrendous AF's afterwards. Plus when I'm on hols my ticker would hate being in the sun too much. We know our own body and listen to it. Try not to worry I think that is normal for "us"

I too am really struggling as the UK are currently experiencing a heatwave. I am usually struggling to keep warm so thought I would enjoy being warm - no! Have no energy, my HR is going up and down constantly and am experiencing heat surges (nothing to do with hormones) 😀. Went to the dentist yesterday in my local town and felt so rough, we went and sat in McDonalds (coldest place we could find) and purchased a bottle of cold water. As Bob said, keeping hydrated is a priority.

No but depending on age suggest you check out your palpitations. Don't be too

alarmed though none of us tolerate this prolonged hot weather. If you are always

tired through lack of sleep during these warm nights then presumably the heart

has to work a little harder to swirl the blood around ?

Didn't have any afib or SVT attacks in the heat, but have noticed my HR elevated more than usual when walking, especially after eating. Up around 120 or even a bit more at a very slow pace. Today, it was cool and HR was in high 90's at same pace, so it could be the weather.

Heat yes - I try and stay out of it. But more when the air is "heavy" and humid. It's almost suffocating when there is no breeze, like there's an elephant on my chest. It's draining. And, clearly, its in part responsible for a further intense episode of fast AF last night.
