Maybe eat less or exercise more, not sure what else one can say. 🤔

I had held my weight at the same for 10 years. The only thing that changed was the medication. It slowed by HR down so much, all I wanted to do was sleep. I’m off it now, working out, and eating right

Thanks for the feedback, it’s very much appreciated…….

Any change in medications?

It’s amazing how many times someone who’s been a member for a year or sometimes a lot less, has never posted before or replied to a post, comes up with a one liner like this and never comments again. Of course, this one is sure to be the exception to the norm 😉

Have gained at least 8 lbs since on metaprolol, mostly belly fat. Have not changed my diet or exercise. Going for 6 month check next week, will ask to get off it.

As I understand it, sudden weight gain is caused by water or fluid retention, whereas as slower weight is caused by the usual culprit, fat, i.e. overeating. The cause of the first can often be investigated and treated medically but the cause of the second is harder to prove but can be treated only by eating fewer calories, i.e. keep the same diet but reduce the portions of food slightly. In a few cases, the cause can also be a slow metabolism, which will be thyroid related, and can be checked and treated.

My weight can fluctuate 5 lbs or more day to day. Frustrating.

I gained 10 lbs in 2 days and lost 10 lbs in 2 days….days leading up to what I can only say was water retention, I had been eating a lot of salty foods. The two days I lost the 10 lbs I limited my sodium intake a lot!And also ate walnuts and bananas which have potassium. Potassium aids in removing fluid retention I think.
