HI, What are you experiencing? I had no side effects on Sotalol just that my episodes of Afib were longer than on Flecainide (which I was changed to).

Hello Thank you for your reply

I was on sotolol for years. Told sotolol is an old treatment. Was put on Bisoprolol and flecanide as PIP. Then changed to propafenone which made me dizzy low BP and just rough.

I'm glad last A+E visit saw EP and he put me back on Sotolol. So can't be that out of date.! Like you no side effects. I've an appointment soon with EP to chat about my medication.

Could I just ask how long you've had AF ... thanks again.

I've had Paroxysmal Afib since 2011. I had a RF ablation 7 days ago and hope it will diminish or even halt my episodes . But early days! I think if you are fine on Sotalol and it helps your arrythmia that is a good enough reason to stay with it. What worries you about taking it?

Take care

Breathless dizzy and high pulse I never had before. Just wondered if it's common. Cheers.

I think it's generally a safe drug and any side effects will be printed on the patient leaflet in the pack. I was told I couldn't have it thanks to my LBBB. I expect side effects are rather patient-dependent and might depend on particular aspects of your own heart, such as its output and various other electrical measures.

I’ve been on it for the past 2 years and only side effect is a lower pulse rate and bp which I find tolerable. When I do have afib attack I feel less tired and breathless so I’m good with it.

The best place for all info on a drug is the package insert. Here's the one for sotolol.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatf...

I have been on 80mg of Sotalol twice a day for several years now, after a bad experience with Amiodarone, and the only adverse effect is a reddish patch on the sole of one foot.

I'm fine with it too. Three times 40mg a day.☺️
