I am going on holiday to Tenerife (from the UK) on Monday and the prospect of flying is currently terrifying me - I have had one afib episode 2.5 years ago (lots of ectopics before and since) - I'm concerned that the low pressure/oxygen up there will cause things to go funny. Does anyone have any reassurance/advice by any chance??
Currently take 10mg propranolol 3x per day.
Thank you!
Tom

Thanks for the reply Carol much appreciated! I did think about asking the GP for valium actually as my brother in law gets one from his doctor due to fear of flying, I may well do that if I can this week. I will try and stay calm though and remember your advice, and just try to enjoy! Take care 😊
I have been going to Tenerife every year since I was first diagnosed with Afib (14 years ago) As they said keep calm don't invite stress, as long as you have done everything you can other people are there to help if there are problems. Just look forward to your holiday and don't worry about things that may not happen.
Hi Tom, I too have a holiday to Tenerife booked, I know it's not easy as I sometimes fail myself but try not to become a prisoner of your condition. If you go through life thinking the worse what happens to the good times when nothing goes wrong? They are ruined by anxiety! Try and enjoy your holiday mate and create some memories, chances are everything will go well and you'll be booking again for next time 🤞
I think that is a brilliant piece of advice djb i e. don't let yourself become a prisoner to your condition. Enjoy your life without continuously worrying about it.
