63 years old; 3 years post stroke; diagnosed atrial flutter; on ablation waiting list; 14 weeks now on heart rate greater than 115; 12.5mg bisopropol, 125 microgrammes Digoxin so far, not making any differerence).
UPDATE; Got my ablation date for 30th June! (Got a bit emotional when I heard; in my head I'm like a kid in sweet shop). Slight fly - I got a head cold 8 days ago; now gunk coughing up from chest; fear may develop to infection (prevous history). Give it til Thursday, then I 'll pester the GP.

Great news! I was fast tracked too for mine , done 12 days ago. I had prolonged period of arrthymias too. So glad for you. Pester GP now.😁Although I did have a persistent cough having mine it didn't stop them. They just asked me to indicate if I needed to cough.
I would pester your GP now. We have both been on antibiotics for just about a week - last day today, after being poorly for a week prior but still not well and coughing like heck and quite fatigued. So two weeks and antibiotics and still not better - am hoping this will go on the next few days but allowing 3 weeks to get fully recovered if not longer. There are some really bad coughs and colds out there at the moment and in many areas Covid numbers have come back up.
Hi, congrats on getting the ablation date. I would get a Covid19 test immediately and if negative call your doc and get on some antibiotics sooner rather than later. If positive, you should be treated with Paxlovid ASAP. It doesn't work if started more than 5 days after symptoms. Best of luck, etheral
Great news on getting a date for your ablation. Get to your GP ASAP for some antibiotics whilst you still have time for a course before 30th and hope your chest clears up soon!
Wonderful on the date and bye bye cold 👋 I am sure you will be the pest you need to be at your GP to make sure nothing else develops. Hello NSR, very excited for you
My ablation is on the 6 July ! Ablation buddies 🙂 I shall be interested to follow your progress. However I'm keeping a lid on my optimism as Bob says it generally improves Afib but doesn't cure it. But to have a few years free of it would be marvellous!
Thank you lilypocket. Good luck with your ablation. The one thing I’m not looking forward to next week is ‘shaving my groin ‘ - bit unsavoury for me , but necessary.Bought a new dressing gown yesterday on Amazon. My wife and daughter burst out laughing - said I look like an upper class pimp! Why oh why do I try to pick my own clothes? It’s going back today.
Just overnight. For my condition ( very likely atrial flutter, not fib), they re saying virtually certain of permanent success! I feel relatively lucky compared to lots of members here where its an on going battle.
Good luck for the procedure! You may find our 'preparing for an ablation' and 'recovering from an ablation' patient information sheets helpful? to download, please visit AF Association heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...
