Is my ablation still working?

Does anybody have experience of signs when ablation is no longer working effectively to relieve A Fib? I had mine nearly 5 years ago. Been pretty good up until now but now I am beginning to notice more ectopics and palpations -which I have largely tried to ignore - since as others have mentioned one can tend to be hypersensitive to rythem changes given previous history. However last night I had 2 very short fast bursts of heart rate ( only 3 beats each about 30 seconds apart) which is sonething I have not experienced before. Has anybody else had similar experiences?

Yes and unfortunately it heralded the return of AF - but it wasn’t as symptomatic. If you had 5 years free that’s pretty good. If you can record your data to take to your specialist it will help to plan any possible next steps.

Hopefully yes Dave because everyone is subject to subtle changes but folk with a history of AF as you rightly say, are more sensitive. Other factors such as anxiety or non-related health issues can also effect the ticker and these often pass so it’s fingers crossed 🤞 time! Hope it settles soon…….
