Just a quick follow on from my last post. Has anybody out there had an AV Node ablation and been able to get back to full on exercise if they were very active before? Whether that's the gym to do strenuous workouts and weight lifting, lots of long distance walking, steep hill walking etc or long distance running like half marathons, cycling etc. I ask as I have spent most of my life following these pursuits and am worried about losing it all!!

Exercise after an AV Node Avlation
Take your consultants advice on this! Heavy training is not too good for AF but you need personalised advice I think
Start with walking would be my advice. You can test endurance as you go along with slower/faster and then, in time, adding hills. Be prepared to do it in stages and allow yourself complete stops for 2 mins every so often. Weights etc are a bad idea early on due to pressure in the chest. Similarly with bending forward over the chest. I was walking for 20 mins quite happily after 2 weeks, able to do most yoga moves after 4,, able to do weight-bearing yoga as normal after 8, mowing the lawn and other gardening tasks a couple of weeks later. Not started running yet (only do interval type at my age) but feeling like I could. 12 weeks today. I'm not a gym person, never have been but this might give an idea of incremental steps towards resuming normal levels
I should have a chat to your EP or see if you can see a dedicated sports cardiologist. A good resource would be the Facebook site "cardiac athletes", I'm sure someone on there will have experience on it. Happy training
I'd be interested in how you got on with this as I may be in same situation in a few years! Thank you ☺️
I could soon be in the same boat and am therefore thinking about it too, maybe that will help a bit. If you have any more information, I would be very grateful if you would share with me.
