Hello all.Had my atrial flutter ablation yesterday morning at St Thomas's. Was really surprised they could only find flutter as my Kardia says a fib most of the time.was gone 5 hours and apparently half way thru they called myep Proff Gill what to do.He said don't pierce thru heart if there is no afib this time.So I'm wondering is there an atrial flutter recovery sheet as I memorised the a fib one. Thanks for reading.
Ablation yesterday.: Hello all.Had my... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Ablation yesterday.
same procedure for recovery.
Unlike the ablation for AF, that for AFl has no healing or "blanking" period, I was told, so you should recover quickly and well without doing much at all. The procedure is near 100% successful, too, and very safe. I was told to stop my medicines a week after mine, which was back in 2019.
I gather that the Kardia cannot pick up AFl. How it mixed up AFl with AF is interesting. I think, if I were you, I'd send a couple of traces to your cardiologist and ask for their comment.

Yes I will do that on my 3 month check up.Unless it's a phone call.I would like a face to face appointment as the first person I saw face to face was the ablation team.
I dislike phone appointments unless it’s just to discuss results. It’s not always easy to ask questions face to face but on the telephone it seems much harder.
I have read that with covid apparently causing a lot of heart problems, cardiologists are busier than ever.
