If so what treatment have you had. I’m awaiting review by an EP. I’m 9 months post heart attack and 6 months post cardio version for AFib. Female now 60yrs.
Thanks

If it is Ventricular Tachycardia you are dealing with ,this is a dangerous arrhythmia that if sustained can deteriorate into Ventricular Fibrillation and cardiac arrest. Various antiarrythmics can be used and an implantable cardiac defibrillator would be considered. An urgent visit to an EP is in order. If you are getting dizzy spells or other new symptoms you should go to A+E. Best of luck, etheral
I agree with everything Etheral said. I would just add Sotalol as a beta blocker for vtach. I suffered sustained vtach.
Thank you for your reply. 9 months down the line from a heart attack and then constant AFib for 3 months this news has wobbled me. I’ve only spoken with the cardiologist consultant so far who’s admitted this is out of his area of expertise. But after seeing my 5 day ECG that I had because of symptoms he said I have this broad complex tachycardia he spoke like it had a few components in the rhythms he’s seen. He said I’m having short but very frequent runs of these type of beats and mustn’t put a strain on my heart as it can be dangerous. He said if I look at Google it will say about death 😂. He implied there were other things going on as well. I’m already on all the heart attack drugs including bisoprolol 7.5 which he said will give me some protection. So I’m waiting for my urgent EP appointment. I’ve got myself this far after my heart attack, got back some of my fitness and mental coping but this has floored me a bit. But it’s good to hear someone else has this rhythm. How long had you had it for before it was diagnosed? With yours being sustained I would imagine your symptoms were worse. Thanks
Hello Ewloe, Good to hear from another vtach on this wonderful afib forum Vtach are 5 or more runs of PVC's. PVC's are skipped beats that most people experience. Like vtach the frequency could be a concern I had my 2 syncopes in march 2021. The 1st one in a park and I bounced back on my own. The 2nd one a week later while hospitalized for rapid afib Both time I saw myself becoming dizzy and losing consciousness. I went into sustained vtach H R 270, vfib and cardiac arrest. I owe my life to being on a cardiac monitor and the rapidity of the hospital staff.... Before that,I only started experiencing heart palpitations in summer 2020. Now after some lifestyle changes thanks to this great forum,I rarely convert back to afib and at 58, I feel fine. Don't hesitate to ask any question and keep me updated on your condition.
