I use one and not had any problems, not convinced it does anything useful either !

I use one which is shampoo and a lotion. Haven’t had any problems with it causing AF. Have tried others previously.

Like Bantam12 says not convinced it does anything. I spoke to my a hairdresser about the hair loss caused by anticoagulants. He said no amount of shampoos, lotions etc. applied to the scalp will help. His words were it has to come from within.

Gimmick IMHO. Of course it can't get into your body through hair anyway as hair is not connected to blood supply.

I looked into this issue a few years ago. From memory caffeine shampoo was the only hair treatment approved in the US FDA. I also remember it was said one application the shampoo was equivalent to the body absorbing caffeine from one shot of espresso. Please don't quote me as I can't remember any references.

I did however try shampoo which contained ketoconazole which I think is a steroid but has a beneficial effect of killing a fungus which may be present in hair roots. With gentle use over 3 months I found downy hair (what I called baby hair) starting to grow. But nothing really developed long term.

I wouldn't say the question is silly at all. A pharmacist should be able to tell you as they would know if there is sufficient caffeine in the product to cause a problem and whether it gets into the bloodstream.

😳 the skin is the larges organ of the body, it absorbs and excretes. There are medicated gels, creams so 🤷🏼‍♀️ If you are sensitive it may well upset your system.

Ps. Yes it may well, everyone is different.

Ps. I used Alpecin liquid as I was losing my hair through Apixaban. I don’t feel it affected my PAF, but as I said, everyone is different

Did you have a good result with the Alpecin as I have had hair loss since starting Apixaban?

Yes. Helped me physically and mentally. My hairdresser said it has improved only last week. It’s stopped coming out so much and I feel back to normal, loads ☺️

Brilliant, I will get some as even if it doesn't work for me at least I will be doing something and will make me feel better. Wil let you know eventually. 😃🤞🤞

Yup, worrying yourself silly. I use them and never noticed an issue.

Don’t dismiss someone’s concerns. Very valid

That wasn't my intention and I don't think electric will take it that way. But it's good of you to flag it nevertheless.

Probably not enough in the product to do harm. But always better to be cautious. As we all say-everyone is different. We don't know til we try something what our reaction may be. Take care and be safe.

To someone who has allergies and I can have, doesn’t matter necessarily how much is in it.I had a partial replacement knee, mentioned I can be allergic to sticking plasters. They failed to get a hypoallergenic dressing. Next - massive allergic reaction which took 2 months to go!

Oh my goodness! Wish these dang medical people would open their ears and not just the Drs. That's unacceptable. Glad you finally healed. I have a bad allergy to mold. I told the EKG tech about it when I went to the ER awhile back and he just laughed. He said everyone is bothered by mold here in Florida. Not a laughing matter when it can make one deathly ill. 😡
