Famatodine side effects

Hi just been prescribed 20mg famatodine to take along with rabeprazole, but I don't know wether to take them due to reading horror stories on other forums anyone here have problems with famatodine because I'm struggling with hiatus hernia and don't want to make it more painful, any help please.

I have been prescribed famotidine for hiatus hernia and acid reflux. I too darent take it. I know not to take Cimetidine in the same family as famotidine as it is known to trigger arrhythmia symptoms.

Heaven knows what we are meant to do successfully to manage gastric pain. I hope someone here has some good news on famotidine. I cant take proton pump inhibitors as they definitely cause me to go into afib. Suffering from afib and gastric pain is no fun. Good luck.

Thanks, yeah I took one 20mg famatodine last night and it didn't do any good and gave me flutters also read that you shouldn't take h2 blockers with ppis gp prescribed it for pain in my upper back i am not taking any more will have to stay with my rabeprazole 20mg x daily i am still struggling with rabeprazole cant win gps saying different things, think i will have to enquire about a endoscopy cant go on like this.

All I can say is that I was originally on Ranitidine, until it was taken off the NICE list. I was then put onto Famotidine, and have been using it ever since. I didn't notice any great difference in effect, and I tolerate it very well. I'm hoping that, once the AF is considered 'cured' and I can stop taking the flecainide and bisoprolol (if ever), I could try phasing out the famotidine.

Ok yeah but we're you taking it along with a ppi,also was urinating more at night.

No, I reacted to a PPI with terrible vomiting and diarrhoea, that's why they gave me the ranitidine.
