I started taking 120 mg of Diltiazem 2 weeks ago with no side effect. Last night I got very dizzy for the first time, I still feel dizzy this morning. Will this go away over time?

Hi

If it lasts longer than a couple days see your GP and maybe reduce the dose. I had similar problems with 90mg Diltizem when taking Bisoprolol, a few years ago. My GP reduced the Bisoprolol and the dizziness subsided. Are you on any betablockers ?

I would like to say that I found Diltiazem fabulously good for me, when all else failed. Try stay with it.

Phil

Thank you for your reply. I am not on any other meds at this time. I will take your advice.

Hi

I am on 180 Diltiazem and did not have that side effect. I also take 5mg of biso. It could be the hot weather causing you problems are you well hydrated. I do get odd dizzy spells from time to time but they are short lived and I just consider them part of the AF. But as above if continues consult your GP.

Cassie

If you are experiencing any new side effects and you are not taking any new medications, we would suggest that you contact your GP or consultant. Also in this heat, it is important to ensure you drink at least 2-3 litres of water per day to stay well hydrated.

I was told water in tea and coffee does NOT count.

No! It must count - I never drink water but I drink gallons of tea, literally. But water, only if it has squash in.

Concentrated fruit flavouring to add to water - brilliant for those such as me who don't and won't drink plain water. Only seen it in the UK (correct me here if I am wrong). Available (deep breath) sugar-free with all the added nasties!
