Afib, ablation, brachycardia pacemaker?

62 yo female, other than afib, I have no health issues .

Ablation 2017 seems to have corrected afib. My bp and hr (other than when i was in afib) are low and slow.

Was feeling "not right" and was given a zio monitor for 2 weeks. It showed no afib, but did show my heart had stopped beating for a few seconds.

Cardiologist referred me to a specialist for possible pacemaker.

Has this happened to anyone?

Yes lots of us have had this, a pacemaker will make a big difference. I have bradycardia and pauses due to 2nd degree heart block, my pacemaker has greatly improved symptoms as my rate now can’t go below 60bpm.

If one is pre-disposed to AF then you are to any arrhythmia including bradycardia. A pacemaker will sort it out.

Yes it’s not uncommon. Pacemaker does make a huge difference and improved both my and my OH’s QOL and in his case, prolonged his life.
