That is too high a heart rate and it’s best to seek medical attention when so high. That is why you feel dizzy and it’s best to go to A and E
If I am in afib my B/P monitor will not accurately take my blood pressure, not even close. My afib rate is 140-160 and it simply will not give a accurate B/P. If you are having those waves of dizziness I would seek medical help.
It's a truly dreadful feeling. Hopefully, your GP or cardiologist has given you something to get the rate back below 100bpm, which will be safer and more comfortable. A persistent rate above 100 needs to be controlled as it stops the heart being efficient and can lead to a, usually temporary, weakening of the left ventricle and valve.

Yes, I had waves also and a feeling that someone was squeezing my heart and lungs together. Absolutely awful - I didn't feel dizzy but couldn't breathe. Your heart rate is the main factor and you need expert help asap. Can you contact your cardiologist's secretary for advice? Otherwise, I would get to A&E. Best wishes.
Hi,
I went into AF for the first time about 6 weeks ago and still remain in it.
My HR when it all first started was 145 and the only symptoms I had was I felt very unsteady when I stood up.
I’m now on Bisoprolol which keeps my HR down.
At 200 bpm seek medicial advice Wum. There are med's which help lower it but it's to high. Speak to your medic - he / she may give you a PIP (pill in the pocket) or suggest A&E.
Move on this one right away.
