Sounds worthy of some further discussion. I note you were on a beta blocker and a query was recently raised about sick sinus syndrome. If you are getting dizzy or breathless then this warrants doctor review fairly soon to reduce or stop your beta blocker and check for sick sinus syndrome.
When I first started with PAF my heart was up to 190. That was nearly 2 years ago. For the last 8 months I have been on Bisoprolol (now settled at 5mg, was 10mg) and Dronedarone (2x 400mg). Now if I go into AF my heart rate only goes up to the 80's. (Usually about 60). I am coping with it better now and try to remain calm and do deep breathing . It usually works. My most recent episode only lasted for an hour. Has anyone used a pressure point on the palm of the hand to slow down a fast heart rate?
This happend. to me felt very strange as my HR is usually high when in AF
the cardiologist lowered amiodarone 200 down to 100 mg and digoxin was discontinued for my mom. she had pulses in the 50s as well. the pulse rate is now in 70s. everyone is different and your cardiologist can assist you. she has afib and chf. best to you
Hi Afib1 i was taken off amiodarone as it was leaving deposits in my eyes i too have chf, paf and sss im off to my ep on tuesday so hopefully will be able to help me out
