Reactions to Xarelto

Has anyone else had large red blotches on their legs and also bleeding from the uterus when on Xarelto. I was advised to stop for 5 days and then start again. I started again last night but had a small nose bleed this morning. Would be glad of any advice

Sorry you haven't had any replies as yet; probably no one has had your experience. If I was on Xarelto and had these side effects, I would be looking to change the anticoagulant, rather than stopping and starting.

Sorry I can't help, but I have been on xarelto a number of years without any obvious side effects. However my sister was prescribed it and she was really ill on it after a couple of weeks. As soon as she went back on warfarin, she was fine. I would suggest speaking to your doctor again.

Sorry that you are having these issues. I was also prescribed Xarelto and it caused my gums to bleed and small clots in my mouth over night. My doctor switched me to Eliquis and have had no problems with it. Hope this helps and keep us posted on how it all works out for you.

Thanks for that. I am back on Xarelto but am waiting to see cardiologist. I think it is time for a change.

I was on warfarin until the covid nonsense started, when I was switched to Xarelto because it didn't need the regular INR monitoring of warfarin. Nasty stuff, I thought: within a couple of weeks I was getting the red blotches, in my case on my hands and arms, and some blood in urine. GP then switched me to Eliquis, and there have been no noticeable problems since. I found this article - and especially the full details of the study referred to at the very end - very reassuring on Eliquis:
